Day 4 – Arrival at Wapo | August 23, 2020
The fourth day of NET Fall Training is when all the NET missionaries and staff head to Camp Wapogasset in Amery, Wisconsin. Affectionately known as Wapo, NET takes over the entire camp for 2 weeks of training and formation. Camp Wapogasset is in fact a Lutheran Bible Camp. We bring Jesus in the Eucharist with us for our makeshift Adoration Chapel and for Mass every day. NET has been coming to Wapo for over 30 years. All those years have allowed us to have a well-formed relationship with the camp.
With our extra precautions and guidelines, the staff at Wapo has been extremely accommodating in helping us create a safe space to train our missionaries. NET recently purchased a 60′ x 40′ tent for training which allows us to have large group meetings and Mass outside, weather permitting. At Camp Wapo with us is NET Alumni and Registered Nurse, Alayna Morman. She is here to help care for the physical well-being of the missionaries. We are also in constant consultation with doctors.
